About
Rachel Andras has officially added "maker" to her list of life titles, joining roles such as wife, mother, fly fishing instructor, health coach, and educator. She finds immense joy in bringing her creative ideas to life—whether scavenging for scrap wood, working in the woodshop, or designing in Adobe Illustrator. Her favorite part of the process? Using a laser cutter to transform her designs into tangible creations. Every step of this journey has been a source of inspiration, and she eagerly anticipates where it will lead next.
A Makerspace That Changed Everything
A year ago, Rachel joined a makerspace that profoundly influenced her creative path. The inspiring, well-organized environment ignited her creativity, pushing her to explore new possibilities without hesitation. With newfound motivation, she embraced the full potential of her imagination, allowing her to craft with intention and purpose.
Honoring a Cherished Tradition
The loss of her mother left a significant void in Rachel’s heart, but she continues to cherish the traditions they shared—especially their love of "surcee gifts." These small, thoughtful surprises, often earrings, were exchanged as tokens of love and encouragement. Rachel carries this sentiment into her creative philosophy, viewing all of life’s moments—both joyful and challenging—as gifts and opportunities for growth. Her mindset of embracing new experiences with the mantra, "I am a beginner, and that's okay!" fuels her passion for continuous learning and experimentation.
Creating with Purpose: Sustainability & Upcycling
Rachel is deeply committed to sustainability, crafting unique, eco-conscious pieces from reclaimed materials. Whether working with salvaged wood or upcycled jewelry, she aligns her creative process with the Zero Waste Movement, reducing the demand for newly manufactured products. Each piece she creates reflects a blend of artistry and environmental responsibility, contributing to a greener, more sustainable world—one thoughtful design at a time.
