When submitting your application, keep in mind what we want you to tell us like;
Your Story: Paint us the story of you and help us see your journey. Those who believe in themselves make us believers as well!
Your Business Growth Plans: We’re not looking for a formal business plan, just a thoughtful explanation of how you plan to grow or launch your business. Share your market, your team, the obstacles you’ve overcome, and the challenges that still lie ahead. Help us see the path to your success and the steps you’re taking to get there.
How You’ll Use the Grant Money: If selected, how will you use the funds? Be as detailed as possible—tell us exactly how you plan to use the grant to fuel your business growth, achieve your goals and ensure future success.
The incrediGrant team evaluates grant applications daily and complies a list of finalists for our monthly grants. Next, we review and analyze each finalist a second time to ensure everything is in order before passing along the complied list to our independent professional review board.
The board then has 30 days to review the compiled list of finalists and work on unanimously selecting one recipient from the group.
The grant awardees are announced by the end of the following month from when they applied. Total time from applying, to review, and award announcement can be up to 60 days.
This awardee announcement goes public via our website, social media and our email list. If you’ve applied, you’ve automatically been added to our email list.
Our goal is to issue you the grant award after the award announcement in 30 days or less.
If you have been selected, one of our team members will reach out to you by phone with the next steps in addition to sending an award notification to the provided email on the application form. If we cannot reach you by email or phone, we will mail you a notification to the provided address on your application.
In the event that we are unable to get in contact with you, we will hold the award for 30 days while we attempt to get in contact during that time.
After 30 days if we have not been able to get in contact with you and/or you have not claimed the award, the award will be returned to the incrediFund. From that period, you will still have another 90 days to still claim it.
After 90 days, (total of 120 days from award notification) if you have not attempted to claim the grant, the full amount will be forfeited and may then be awarded to a different applicant
If selected as an incrediGrant recipient, we will provide you with a 1099-MISC form which will report the grant amount received. You may owe state or federal taxes and will be responsible for any taxes owed.
We/incrediGrant are not tax consultants and we highly recommend you consult with a tax professional for any of your tax needs and or questions. We are not responsible for filing your taxes and take no responsibility for any tax implications the grant award may have upon you or your business.
Use our friends FREE 1099 tax calculator over at Keeper to see how much you may owe. Link----> 1099 Tax Calculator | How Much Will I Owe?
Funds come from our generous business sponsors or directly from the incrediFund through one of our two grant types listed below;
Sponsor supported grants
Non-sponsored grants
How do sponsor supported grants it work?
A business become a sponsor for $5,000; We maximize this by creating (5) $1,000 grant awards
The incrediFund then "boosts" each grant with an additional amount. For example, say we boost each of the (5) $1,000 grants with an additional $1,000
(5) $2,000 grants will then be awarded for a total of $10,000 in grants awarded over 5 months
The amount "boosted" is based upon the monthly performance of the incrediFund and may vary month to month.
The total award with sponsor support will be a minimum of $1,000 and a maximum of $10,000
How do non-sponsored grants work?
The incrediFund draws upon its own holdings and issues funds to incrediGrant
incrediGrant issues a non-sponsored grant from the funds "received"
The amount "received" is based upon the monthly performance of the incrediFund and may vary month to month.
The total award without sponsor support will be a minimum of $1,000 and a maximum of $5,000
Where does the incrediFund get its money?
The incrediFund is a company-managed interest-bearing growth fund
The interest generated by the account is issued to incrediGrant to fund non-sponsored grants or "boost" a sponsor supported grant
The incrediFund grows by investing its assets, generating interest, and reinvesting the returns to ensure a self-sustaining model for continued grant issuance through incrediGrant
If the incrediFund is not able to issue the minimum amount through its earnings, incrediGrant will stop accepting applications and pause the program until incrediFunds earnings/interest reach the minimum distribution amount or a sponsor becomes available
While our application is free, the service to process it is not. There is a common misconception that all grant-related services are free when in reality, many foundations do and can charge a service fee.
For example, the nationally recognized Amber Grant, which has been supporting Women ran businesses since 1998, charges a $15 application fee for their services, just as we do. Learn more about the Amber Grant and their mission by clicking this link: The Amber Grant | Grants for Women in Business | WomensNet
While we hope to make incrediGrant free in the future, at this time, we do charge a service fee, and we sincerely appreciate your support in helping us keep our program running. Our modest service fee covers the following:
1: Application review and verification
Each application typically takes about 1 hour to review and verify by a staff member.
2: Ongoing site operations and tech support
Without our site, you wouldn't be able to easily submit your application and have it quickly reviewed. Instead, you would need to mail it via certified mail and will take longer to reach us/be reviewed.
3: Card payment convenience fee
Card providers charge us a fee to process each card along with providing their services.
If you would like to submit a free application and not utilize our online service, please email connect@incredigrant.com for instructions on how to submit a free application
Link -------> How to Tell If a Government Grant Offer Is a Scam or Legitimate | SCORE
SCORE states: "Grant applications are usually free, as they are sourced at the federal or state/county level with public funds. If you are asked to submit a fee to apply for the grant or learn more about it, there’s a good chance it is a scam"
We wholeheartedly agree with SCORE on this statement and recommend them on our Small Business Resources page as an excellent resource for learning.
Context is important in understanding grants and how they work, so let's take a closer look at SCORE’s statement;
"Grant applications are "usually" free as they are "sourced" at the federal or state/county level with "public funds”
“Usually” does not mean always
"Sourced" refers to where the funds originate from, in this case federal or state
"Public funds" refers to the specific allocation of financial resources by government entities to support programs, services, and initiatives that are aimed at addressing societal needs and promoting the general welfare of the public as a whole
How does this apply to incrediGrant?
We are an independent & privately funded program, a completely separate program from what SCORE is referring to
We do not use or receive public funds sourced at the federal or state level
We are not a state or federal grant administrator
We are not a state or federal grant program
We do not charge for our application, our application is free and if you would like to submit a free application, please email, connect@incrediGrant.com for instructions on how to do so
Typically, a "Public Funded Program" that use "Public Funds" from the "Federal Government" or "State" must provide the service for a reduced cost or free as a requirement for receiving/using public funds
Just like SCORE, we at incrediGrant also agree that if someone is requesting a fee for a grant sourced at the federal or state/county level with public funds there's a good chance it's a scam and recommend being cautious
Short answer, yes! But there is a 6 month waiting period for all grant recipients who have been awarded an incrediGrant.
You can reapply after the 6 month waiting period, but you should only consider reapplying when something significant has changed to your business model or circumstances that has positively impacted your company that you can show.
Support incrediGrant by sharing the word on social media and letting all your favorite small businesses or entrepreneurs know about our grant program.
You can also visit our sponsorship page and select a sponsor package 😃
No, incrediGrant is structured as a Limited Liability Company (LLC).
The regulations associated with 501(c) status impose restrictions on the use and disbursement of funds, as well as additional requirements for grant recipients.
At incrediGrant, our mission is to provide grants that offer recipients the freedom to utilize the funds without limitations, ensuring they can be applied in a manner that directly supports business growth. As such, we determined that forming as an LLC best aligns with our goals for the following reasons:
Flexibility: An LLC allows us to provide grants with no restrictions on how the funds can be used, which aligns with our goal of offering unrestricted support to businesses
Reduced administrative costs and time: We can focus more on the work we do instead of getting bogged down with paperwork, state required reporting, strict 501(c) regulation reporting, board meetings and volunteer management
Increased efficiency: Operating as an LLC allows us to spend more time helping businesses and less time on administrative tasks
Revenue generation: We can more easily engage in profit-generating activities that help fund our grant program vs a 503(c) that must follow strict rules in regard to profit making.
Community outreach: We’re able to reach out to communities and businesses where they need help most, without being tied to a specific mission or pre-set restrictions
Unlimited potential: We have no limits on what we can do in the future, which gives us the flexibility to evolve as needed to better serve our community.
